BANKS FOR INDUCTIVE REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATION

CAPACITOR BANKS WITHOUT DETUNED REACTORS

BK-25, BK-55, BK-180 and BK-360 capacitor banks without detuned reactors have been designed for reactive power compensation (improving the cos φ power factor) in three-phase industrial networks with a voltage of 400V and 525V, under the assumption of balanced phase load.

An electronic power factor controller (1-phase current measurement) automatically adjusts the power of coupled capacitors to network needs (so as to maintain a constant cosφ value).

In the event of occurring load unbalance (high share of single-phase consumers), a bank can be equipped with a controller able to measure 3-phase current (option available on special request).

BK-25 and BK-55 banks are characterized by small dimensions and weight. This enables installing them where there is limited space, e.g., on the floor.

BK-180 banks are executed in two versions – with capacitors inside the device power up to 120 kVar and with capacitors outside the housing – power up to 200kVar. There is an option to install the device in a thermosetting housing, with or without a foundation for easy setting of the device outside.

BK-360 banks are executed in standing switchgear, with a maximum power of 900 kVar. There is an option to install the device in a special housing, dedicated to positioning the bank outside – available on special request.

BKH-96, BKH-96-I, BKH-96-II CAPACITOR BANKS FOR INSTALLATION OF 7% DETUNED REACTORS

BKH capacitor banks are designed to compensate inductive reactive power in three-phase low-voltage 400V, 525V and 690V industrial networks. They are adapted to operate in network with higher harmonics, however, they are not equipped with detuned reactors. Such a solution provides a possibility to use detuned reactors in the future, without additional expansion of the bank. BKH banks are adapted for installing detuned reactors with a damping factor of 7% (189 Hz). The aforementioned banks are fitted with special capacitors adapted to operate in networks with elevated voltage (440 V) and are resistant to the impact of current distortions.

The banks ready for detuned reactor installation are available in the following configurations: BKH-96, BKH-96-I, BKH-96-II. The designation determines the type of used housing and the maximum power that can be tied-in to the device.

BKH banks can be fitted with detuned reactors with a damping factor of 14% (134 Hz). However, this entails the need to replace all capacitors within the device – solution available solely on special request.

BKD-96, BKD-96-I, BKD-96-II CAPACITOR BANKS WITH 7% OR 14% DETUNED REACTORS

Capacitor banks with detuned reactors are designed to compensate inductive reactive power (improve the cosφ power factor) in three-phase 400V, 525V and 690V networks. Detuned reactors enable bank operation in networks with higher harmonics (elevated THDI level), protecting the capacitors against excessive overload. Our capacitor banks come with p=7% (fr=189Hz) and p=14% (fr=134Hz) detuned reactors. Each reactor is protected with thermistors that deactivate the element after a temperature of 120 °C is exceeded.

Banks with reactor protection are available in the following configurations:
BKD-96, BKD-96-I, BKD-96-II. The designation determines the type of used housing and the maximum power that can be tied-in to the device.
